The Ahead News Letter About Us
Together with family and friends we are in Word and Deed occupied at Ferryhill, County Durham, sharing and telling of God's Love revealed in the Life and Teachings of Jesus Christ.

Apart from our weekly meetings, we are available on request for home visitation, hospital visits and to receive written prayer requests.

As a family and community orientated people, and being from 'all walks of life', we can empathise with many family and community related issues and, when requested, be a support for those who need it.

We also have a newsletter called 'Ahead', the content of which covers a wide range of topics including Christian Faith and Teachings, personal testimony and links to other Christian Literature, one being 'The Dovecote' directed by our founder member, Pastor Jim O'Donnell.

We also have an outreach ‘meal time’ every other Wednesday from 12.00 PM until 1.30 PM. This is aimed at helping the elderly, unemployed and people who would not normally make a meal for themselves or even socialise. It also gives us a chance to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Action. (dates and times along with venues can be given on request)
Pastors Richard and Lauraine Smith have overseen the work at Immanuel Christian Fellowship from 2005.

They have been married for thirty five years, they have three sons and 2011 saw the arrival of their fifth grandchild.

Their aims are to see Immanuel Christian Fellowship become an ‘Apostolic in Ministry’ ‘New Testament Church,’ producing spiritual fruit and gifts, spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, preaching Repentance, making disciples and baptising them in His name. (Acts Chapter 2 v 38) Motivated by the Love of God that can only be found in The Person of Christ Jesus, reflected in those who profess to be ‘Born Again’ in the Spirit of God and applying this to all men. (Luke 10 v 27)

As through Christ, God the Father has called us by the ‘Spirit of Adoption’ into His family. Being family orientated Richard and Lauraine aim to propagate a ‘family spirit’ rather than a ‘religious’ one in Immanuel Christian Fellowship.

They also aim to build bridges between Immanuel Christian Fellowship and other Fellowships with the same mission. Starting locally then nationally and one day God willing internationally.
